Why use Lubricant Oil Analysis?
- Many assets utilise some form of lubricant for their operation. Ensuring this lubricant is in optimal condition reduces wear and tear and improves asset performance.
- Oil samples are collected from both storage tanks as well as operating assets and are then analysed in a laboratory for contaminants such as particles that do not belong. The contaminants can be introduced (dust, dirt, moisture) or created through combustion (soot, sludge).
- By tracking oil analysis sample results over the life of an asset, trends can be established and used to detect asset component defects.
