On-Site Dynamic Balancing

What is on-site dynamic balancing?

Precision on-site balancing is balancing the asset to the lowest practical levels.

ISO 21940 provides a means of determining the permissible residual unbalance on the type of machine. It uses quality grade numbering from G0,16 though to G4000. In this ISO standard it states that G6,3 covers many of the industrial machines that are found today, however this is not acceptable. G2,5 is more common but we should be aiming for G1,0.

Machines that have been precision balanced run longer, and cost less to run. Unbalance causes fatigue and reduces the life of bearings and can make looseness and resonance conditions far worse.
